Hey everybody, Brandon here. So here’s the craziest story so far about working on “The Spread.” This is all true, swear to God.
So yesterday, Mike, Tyler and myself had an impromptu work-session at my place, the Finktoons headquarters on Waller Street. We were about to go have a cigarette when 4 firetrucks came blasting onto my block, and popped out at the house directly next to mine-the house we share an eastern wall with. There was just a little bit of smoke coming out of the second floor and we didn’t think it was anything to worry about, until about 20 minutes later when a Firefighter busted open my front door and screamed “You guys need to get the fuck out of here right now!” We grabbed my cat and our laptops and ran out the front door, and then watched for like three hours as the house next door to mine burned to the ground and the Firefighters battled out the flames from my roof. It became apparent pretty early on that the house next door to mine was totally unsalvageable, and the focus of the Firemen was solely to try to keep it from taking out my house too. Watching helplessly to see if everything you own is going to be incinerated is fucked, let me tell you.
In the end though the firemen did their job and our house escaped with only very minor damage. Our neighbors house is rubble though. Super gnarly.
